What level of education is required to be a dentist?

After 3+ years of rigorous in-classroom and hands-on training, they earn their Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or a Doctor of Dental Sciences (DDS) degree, making them a licensed dentist. In order to maintain their license, they must complete continuing education hours each year so they can learn about the latest techniques and technologies in the field.
As for our dentist in your area, Dr. JD Hansen, he completed his undergraduate degree at BYU and his dental doctorate at the University of Louisville. Since graduating, he has undergone a GPR residency at the University of Utah, completed countless hours of advanced training, and become certified in IV sedation. His goal is to use everything he has learned over the years to provide his patients with the calm, positive, and comfortable experience they deserve while caring for their smiles.
